Nous sommes ravis d'annoncer que nous acceptons des candidatures pour le Prix d'indépendance Craig Noble annuel .

Ce prix a été établi à la mémoire d’un jeune homme qui a fait preuve de courage, de croissance personnelle et d’une ferme résolution à atteindre l’indépendance pendant son expérience au CERD.

Nous remettrons le prix à une jeune personne, âgée de 12 à 21 ans, qui vit avec un handicap physique et qui possède les qualités reconnues chez Craig : ambition, attitude positive, persévérance et esprit communautaire.

Le(a) lauréat(e) recevra un chèque de 1 000 $ en reconnaissance de son dévouement, de ses efforts et de sa détermination.

We are excited to announce that nominations are now open for the Annual Craig Noble Independence Award!

This award was created in memory of a young man whose journey with ICAN reflected courage, personal growth, and a strong commitment to independence.

The award is open to persons ages 12–21 living with a physical disability who demonstrate ambition, a positive outlook, perseverance, and community involvement, the same qualities Craig embodied.

The recipient will receive a $1,000 cheque in recognition of their dedication, effort, and determination.

Application Deadline: Friday, April 24, 2026

ICAN Independence Centre and Network Unveils Bold 2025–2030 Strategic Plan to Empower Independence and Community Inclusion

Sudbury, ON – October 7, 2025 – ICAN Independence Centre and Network is excited to unveil its 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, setting a bold vision to enhance independence, inclusion, and person-centered care across the community.

Building on over 40 years of service, the plan introduces refreshed mission and vision statements and reinforces ICAN’s commitment to innovation and quality, guided by CARF-accredited standards. It emphasizes empowering individuals of all abilities to lead independent and meaningful lives.

“Our 2025–2030 Strategic Plan is more than a roadmap, it’s a call to action for everyone in our community,” said Jessica Bertuzzi, CEO of ICAN. “We are investing in our people, modernizing our spaces, and pioneering new approaches to service. Together, we will ensure every person we support has the opportunity to thrive.”

ICAN’s plan focuses on four areas of lasting impact:

Public Awareness & Engagement: Elevating ICAN’s profile, strengthening community connections and inspiring lasting support.

ICAN Celebrates 2025 Craig Noble Award Recipient

ICAN Independence Centre and Network is proud to announce the recipient of the 2025 Craig Noble Award: Ailie, a remarkable young woman whose strength, determination, and community spirit embody the very heart of this honour.

The Craig Noble Award is presented annually to an individual living with a physical disability who demonstrates a strong commitment to independence and makes a meaningful impact in their community. This year, the award was presented by ICAN Board Chair, Andrew, during a special recognition event.

Ailie, a student at École secondaire du Sacré-Cœur, has shown inspiring perseverance throughout her journey. Once reliant on a walker, she now walks independently thanks to her commitment to physical therapy and her unyielding determination.

Beyond her personal achievements, Ailie is dedicated to giving back. She volunteers at local summer camps, completes co-op placements, and actively supports others in the community. Her future plans include pursuing a career as a Personal Support Worker (PSW), a reflection of her deep compassion and desire to help others live with dignity and independence.
