ICAN-CERD is committed to the following directions:

- Establish a government relations committee as a sub-committee of the Board of Directors
- Build internal capacity and stabilize staffing through recruitment and retention of staff and volunteers
- Explore synergies with similar organizations (online training opportunities, front line/management, human resources coordinator)
- Investigate the feasibility of developing a comprehensive service delivery model, including the provision of services for other service streams (birth to death) and identification of potential funding sources
- Improve public awareness of ICAN through strategies such as branding
- Pursue research opportunities in partnership (e.g. with the City, the SPC, the University, etc.)
