The Independence Training Centre is an integral part of ICAN – Independence Centre and Network’s flow through model of rehabilitation services. The model focuses on transitioning clients back into a supported home or community environment with support from family and community organizations. The programs within the Independence Training Centre are developed on an individual basis and are centered on the specific goals of each client.
A professional trans-disciplinary team works with each client to develop an individual service plan with specific, measurable, and time sensitive goals designed to attain independence within their home or community.
Each client works with a Rehabilitation Support Worker as their central point of contact for services at ICAN. The Rehabilitation Support Worker supports the client and their family network and works on how to establish the maintenance program or service within the home or the community environment.
The Independence Training Centre is able to provide independent living assessments, functional ability assessments, and personal development to individuals with disabilities.
