Assessment Services

Our goals are to encourage client self-determination and self-reliance, with the ultimate goal of increasing independence.

ICAN has developed a variety of  services for our individuals to access.  Our services range from a comprehensive assessment to ongoing training and support.

The comprehensive assessment provides detailed information on attendant care needs, training required to achieve independent living goals, and other community resources available.

Utilizing our trans-disciplinary team of professionals and specialized facilities, ICAN can develop an assessment that truly reflects the needs and abilities of the individual.  We have a unique setting that allows for a 2 to 6 week complete assessment of an individual’s functional abilities.

The assessment consists of an analysis of the individual’s abilities in the following areas:

  • Healthy Eating/Lifestyles
  • Money Management
  • Community Integration Skills
  • Safe Living Skills
  • Housekeeping
  • Self Development Skills
  • Managing Time, Goals, and Stress
  • Communication Skills
  • Directing Personal Care Needs
  • Cognitive Training Skills, including attention, perception, memory and learning, organizing processes, reasoning, and problem solving and judgment

Physical Activities:

  • Exercise/Fitness Programs
  • Upper Extremities
  • Mobility

Assessment Recommendations:
The completed Independent Living Assessment provides recommendations from the Assessment team that assist the individual in establishing goals for independent living and identifies areas that require further development.  The recommendations also include services that would be beneficial to the client that are available at ICAN and through other service providers.
